I have decided that the standard GSA aluminium pannier liners are just too stiff and clumsy and the zip opening is not easy to use - particularly when its cold................so I am looking for an alternative.

I have been recommended Kathy's liners which are about £98 for the pair:

or I could buy a set of three for the same amount from ManeEvent:

Has anyone had experience of either of these or, indeed, any worthy alternatives?

Kathy's bags are well made and good quality material, but you do have to factor in the probability that you will get done for duty and VAT when they come in, plus a fee from Royal Mail / other courier for dealing with customs. Could cost an extra £30. Some stuff comes through unscathed, but don't bank on it. If you know anyone in the US, get them delivered there and sent on as a gift.

I use Kathy's...i like em.
Well made, very flexible and they're all black...which is nice.:D

:thumb2 another vote for Kathy's bags from Chainspeed, I've had mine a year now and they are still as good as new, do exactly as described as well..

I bought Mane Event excellent product for price, nice fit into panniers.

And me, nearly three years old now and I would definitely buy from them again. I didn't know about Kathys when I bought mine, they certainly look good but I can't see how they would do the job any better.

bags

I use the Waitrose cloth shopping bags, they do two sizes, both of which fit my ally panniers perfectly (Zega) one of them is even thermal with a zip.
They cost me approx £5.00.
Did a recent trip to spain and it was so easy just to be able to pull the bag and contents from the pannier.
I think Marks and Spencer do a similar bag, mite be a bit more expencive though, £6???

Why anyone would spend nearly £100 on bags to put in a pannier is beyond me. Lots of alternatives for less than a tenner if you are prepared to look around. More money than sense me thinks.

spend the money on booze and just get the concierge to bring the stuff in:thumb2

And i'll add another vote for Kathy's bags from Chainspeed.:thumb2

Good quality bag and a very speedy delivery from Chainspeed

Just ordered a set of 3 liners from ManeEvent. :thumb Having had the BMW variety, I am interested to see just how good the much cheaper ManeEvent kit can be - so watch out for a comparative report soon. :type

Why would anyone buy £12K of bike and bitch about spending out on a set of quality bags to line the panniers? :nenau
