I'm looking for a Map Pocket for my 1200 GSA, without a tank bag. Anyone able to recommend, or know of one? Nippy Norman doesn't have anything. Also a bike-mountable compass might be useful?

I normally always use my GPS, but am riding in Horizons Unlimited HUMMM, where GPS is banned, so I'm having to equip my bike with low-tech equipment!

Ortlieb map bag, used by hillwalkers etc.

Completely waterproof and a good size*.

It comes with two adjustable tie strings. These can be looped through the quick release druze fasteners on the front and rear of the side panels. This holds it tight and easy easy to remove for fuel stops.

* They do two sizes, 'regular' and 'giant'. The regular one is fine. As it is clear both sides you can simply flip it over.

PS A friend uses a basic ordinary Silva compass in an Ortlieb bag. It doesn't seen to be mucked up by the vast block of engine, nor the electrics of the bike.

Being a thin compass it sits quite neatly in the bag on top of a map / route plan.
