After reading through this thread i decided to purchase the headset and adapter from maplin electronics (this & this)
Did a quick test run this morning on the way to work, unfortunatly the headset becomes very painfull even after short distances so i did the goodinr mod.
here be the howto

here be the howto
headset before mutilation
remove the little rubber bung from where the cable exits the headset, teeth work well for this
Pull the cable off the headset until you get to the speaker.
Start hacking at the plastic, i couldn't find me proper penknife but the plastic is soft enough to cut with a small knife, i decided to worry about the cable section later
Just when i was about to slice through the cable i realised that the black and white section can be easily prised apart, thus saving me from an almost certain fubar
I finished trimming the black section
And put the speaker back together
Next thing to do was sort out the helmet mount (i've not put the speaker in a little bag, mainly because i couldn't be bothered
I had some sticky backed velcro lying around so i used that, simply traced round the speaker and cut it out.
See, all those years at school paid off
I stuck the 'hard' velcro section to the speaker, and prepared the soft section for sticking to the helmet lining.
I have a arai tour-x, after a little test fit (minus the soft velcro) i decided the best place would be the top of the 'ear hole' in the helmet lining, this puts it above the ear itself, in a little void in the helmet lining, should work for most people unless your called mr spock
The posistion is not a problem for the 2610's volume btw, seemed to be loud enough at 4.
I've yet to go on a test ride but i cannot feel the earpiece at all now. Not bad for a few quid, certainlly cheaper than some of the other setups i've seen around.
