I have Mapsource with City Navigator Europe NT 2010.1 loaded on my pc. I recently purchased GB Discoverer in order to use the OS Maps for green laning and cycling. The GB Discoverer map is on a memory card that slots into the GPS (Garmin GPSmap 62s).

Does anyone know how to load the GB Discoverer maps unto the pc to use with Mapsource ?

I think you'll find you can't. Even some of the automotive mapping can only be put on your PC if it is available in the DVD format. :(

The download process requires you to install the free Garmin Communicator Plugin on your computer so that we can communicate with your device. Note: The download is installed directly to a Garmin device or microSD/SD card and is not accessible on the computer.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ...... but it is as I thought. The above is from the download installation instructions.

Hi Mate, what you need is Garmin BaseCamp LINKY unfortunalty you cant import the map directly to your PC but it does allow you to view the map and create routes via the 62s and a USB cable - :thumb

When you run Bascamp it searches for external data cards (on usb card readers…) with mapping img files on them, when it finds them you can open them and view them with the Basecamp program

Fantastic

Thanks for your help guys.

Last question hopefully. I have been playing around with the software but can not find how to route off road . Anyone know how to do this ?

Well you can't route off road as maps only have routing information for roads. If you set your GPS to Offroad then it will give a compass direction to your destination.
