I'm sure this has been answered before, but I can't find it - can anyone help. I've created a route in Mapsource and selected "view in Google Earth" - that works fine and I can see the route.

What I want to do now is save that file as a Google earth file and send it to someone else so that they can open it and view the route. I've tried the only save options I can see in GE which is "save place as" - this gives me a kmz file but when that file is opened in GE - no route!

Can this be done?

thanks all,

In GE you should see various entries under "MapSource" - did you save at the correct level?

e.g. can you see attached route?

ooh, hang on. If I just click it then GE opens but no route. But if I save the route, open GE, then do file>open and open the route from GE I can see it. Do I need to change some settings on GE?

In "places" in GE "temporary places" is ticked and the file is present.

I can't see any Options that would cause that effect. I presume you are on the latest 4.3 version?

Hmmm.

Works fine if I open GE then open the file using file>open for my other routes too, but doesn't work if I just click the .kmz:nenau

Still, problem solved, I guess
