I installed Mapsource onto my Laptop first. I then updated the 2008 maps to 2009 via my laptop. I then installed Mapsource onto my VISTA PC but there are no maps showing in the tool bar? Is this a problem? If so how can I fix it? I'm using Mapsource 6.14.1

I don't understand? Select what?

This is a screen shot from the same version Mapsource but from my Laptop where I upgraded my Nav3 maps. as you can see the 2009 maps are in the toolbar on my laptop running XP but not on my PC running VISTA. Should I run the upgrade on my PC even though I don't need to upgrade my Nav3?

Edit: Ah it looks like because I only have one map installed on my PC, "2009" so there is no selection choice, hence no drop down menu. Cheers!

Best buy a paper map then ;)

Ah, here lies the problem - I only have 2008 installed on my PC by default when I installed the software. How can I get 2009 installed? If I run the 2009 free update download it will want to upgrade my Nav3 also which has already been done?

Garmin MapSource comes with a built in help function which clearly answers your question, try :rtfm it's your friend - :thumb

Help didn't solve the problem I'm afraid THAT's WHY I'M HERE :blast

Anyway I solved it by installing the free 2009 map upgrade on my VISTA PC. It had to reinstall the map on my GPS again!
