Mapsource Question

I am in the processing of sorting out the minefield that is buying a GPS for bike. Have pretty much decided on a 2610. Can someone let me know if Mapsource i.e. the entire CD's can be installed onto a laptop and run without the CD's. I have an old Sony mini notebook that has external cd drive. I wondered if I could load the map data onto this then take this with me to allow map transfers etc. This is more important if i go for a Quest.

Yes, easily.
It'll automatically store itself for you, just click the option to have a desktop icon while its installing.

No problem assuming you have sufficient hard disk space.

Listen to Mike..... You'll need around 1.5Gb for the Mapsource application & mapping files.

More than that - the maps and routing load for Europe v7 is 1.76Gb...
