Mapsource transfer

Can anyone tell me how to copy a map which has been generated by the track from the Quest in Mapsource so that I can then post it as an actual map with the route/track being displayed on it please?

Haven't actually done it myself, but if you open MapSource and click on Transfer on the top menu bar, you'll see 'Receive from Device'. Once your Quest is hooked up via USB, you'll see an option 'What to Receive'. Uncheck 'Routes', check 'Tracks' and it should upload your track from unit to PC.

I would've tried this myself but I've just been tidying up and dumped all tracks from my Quest

Ta for that mate. That's not the problem, what I'm trying to do is then copy the map that is generated by the track so that I can then post it on the forum.

What I do is "Show Selected Track on Map" within Mapsource.

Then fire up Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) and use the "Capture screenshot" facility - crop the captured map screenshot as required and save as a.JPG file for posting.

If your running win98 or XP once you transfer the route from the quest and have it showing on the map arrange it so that it is all visible and then hit the'print screen' button on your keyboard.
This places the screen image into the clipboard so you can paste it into any pisture editing software for cropping, resizing etc.
You can even paste it into word and use the picture editor which is built in.

just hit the "print screen" button (when the desired map/route is shown in mapsource) and then paste it into paintshop pro!!! and save as ...a .jpg
