Mapsource Upgrade

I have recently had an email from Garmin saying the latest Mapsource release is available. I went onto the website to claim my "free" upgrade as I had done in previous years of Garmin ownership only to be asked to pay for it!!!!!!!

I have a ZUMO 550 and had previously owned a 2610 where the first upgrade was free. Any comments?

Although you may be told you have to buy an update, wait - several people have bought the update only to be sent a free one too.......

Whether or not the upgrade is "free" depends on whether you registered your unit with Garmin before or after the latest update was available.

I was told by Garmin again today that I was not entitled to an upgrade and would have to buy one - even though my free upgrade arrived today (with unlock codes)..........
