MAPSOURCE WON'T READ

attempting to open Mapsource and error message reads, "access was denied when mapsource attempted to read from the registry, please consult administrator and open Mapsource again".

Any and all advice welcomed, thanks in advance,

Download and install/re-install the latest version and see if that fixes it.

Are you using Vista? - If so you need to right click the properties and somewhere there's an option (maybe security? I'm not sitting on a Vista machine now..) and select 'run as administrator'

Guys again, thanks, Red Rock yes I was running Vista and this I think as you said could have caused some problems, but thanks also to Steve re-install of Mapsource did the trick, cheers again, now I've only to figure it out how the rest works, like I said long day and night ahead, ha,
