Hello everyone!
Just a bit of time off in Morocco but we are back, I will like to finnish my resumen of this Expedition to Timbuktu.
The last picture was taling in Mali, so we start from there.
The petrol station moes of the time don´t have petrol and whent it thas they pumped by hand is not electrycity.
We met some guys and a lady that where going down to Cape Town.
They where real adventures, 3 or 4 months oway from home!!
Mali freindly people, they ae always curiose about the bikes.
3º class public transpor seat, at leas if fresh.
Rest of the passangers, waiting to by throuwn.
Javi was tired at this point, and we didn´t start the piste, jet we still have 250km of sand and dust piste to Timbuktu.
What can I say, tired but happy, it was all ansperience.
Listening to the experiences of javi in the track and giving attention to the details, is always good to know what was the reaction of the bikes of everyone.
Eany shadow, was preciated by us, here we have a metting point for reagroup, becouse of the dust we where giving 2 minutes of distances and every 30minutes reagroup again.
The bikes where doing really good.
The only village between Douenza and Timbuktu, and there is not petrol station, but you could find petrol in bottles at doble the normal price.
And also cool Cola, no words for that great experience of drink a really cool Cola, a that stage.
At these point everyone was doing his own personal trip, we know there where someone in front and some one behind, but you are riding o your own, that is a great fealing.
We decide to take off the panniers, the where so much TOULOUNDULE is the erosion make by the cars that use the piste and that make that you have to go fast, arround 100 to 120kmh, so with the panniers by will brokend the pannier mounts.
Niger river.
You have to take a ferry to reach Timbuktu, if you are coming from Douenza.
are they from Alcaeda??
I have to say that it was so hot, and don´t know how they can whear a jaket with this temp??
A new Spanish version of Lorence of Arabia.
Batter to have a bit of sperience on sand riding, if you are not take some off road courses just to avoid hort your self or the bike.
For sure you will make friends every wear.
The other thing you could do in Timbuktu is deal with the Berebers.
The silver comes from Senegal and they still use the camels for the transport but is desapearing bit by bit.
We leave orly the next morning, we have 640km to make back to Mopti and we have to cashthe ferry and make 250km of piste.
If you don´t make the picture at the entrance is like you have not been here.
Iñaki and 2 of the lads went by boat what they dicide to come in our soppor vehicle, it was to much sand for then on the track.
A experience that you will never forget, I will recomended to every biker to do it at least once in life.
The native call this mountains the hand of Fatima, the colours the smells every thing here is diferent.
They wear not shoes, and they keep smiling and friendly.
In stead of a dog a goat!!
Petrol in sand flower oil bottles, no coments about the octains!!
From Bamako to Kayes on piste 440km off road.

We make group of two, Javi and I have been racing enduro for long time together so that helps a lot normaly I let Javi at the front and I just follow him.
The locals tall us these where the main track, but we mist one exit and end here.
The starting was a bit technic becose of the weight, and you need speed to move on sandy areas.
Cheking the exit of this place and not signes of vehicles have use these track in a long time.
When ever you can refresh your self, is importand to have the right body temp, the true is that I was so hot, je je.
Standing up if better not to died of the dust!!
The locals offer their homes but we decide to moutn our tents, it was a party day for the small village.
The comunal kitchend for all the village, here is where they make their bread.
A happy men.
Magdonals and burguer king was closed, so we have to eat our own food, it was great, the people ofering all tipe os thing and we whant to be good lads and we try a bit of what we though it was really cook, not milk or water, but we try the breat and it was really good.
Yes is a swimming pool.
The roads in Senegal are a bit like this.
We did arround 100km with this tipe of tarmac.
We met this lady that was traveling in a ktm 640 with her husband, he was doing it on a toyota land cruiser.
When the gps does not work, the best is to ask to the locals, but not every time works!!
Hotel La Posted in San Luis Senegal, you have to be carefull here specially with the freindly young lads the can steel your wallet with not notice.
Sure there is a little place for something else, don´tyou think so??
The siesta is something really inportand in Mauritania, specially with does long long strait lines, so borring.
Waiting for the ferry, we make some friends.
Another way of get some money is compiting.
Diego was making friends every where.
At the end of the expedition we make 13.000 km in total wich arround 2.500km where off road, and all the rest was in tarmac roads, we been 33 days out and in my case I spend arround 8.000€, Africa is expensive but every € was worth it, we are preparing another expeditin for 2010, I will preciate to the person that took my last post to leave this one on, so any one that whant information just post it here, I´ll try to keep posting other tours I already made, all the best and keep riding, hope to see some of you in Irland on the 200 North west in two weeks.
