i was doing the points thing on the enfield and although i loved it
1. fuel filler - whose idea was it to put an angled insert in the tank - can only fill it from one side
2. vibey af even at normal motorway speeds go illeagle and its like sitting on a funduro
3. the dash - cant get on with it ended up buying an old zumo - very clear and big which was a plus point but still
4. the rear - although beemer have been doing it for years the brake light in the indicators - hmm - as a unit if they fail youre fucked unlike if theyre separate then you have some chance of being seen from the back (matron)
shame cos the finish is very good riding position is great and the seat was comfier than the honda
id been looking at buying something else and there was a local z650rs that was nice after the cb500 hornet in hull that had had the accessories catalogue thrown at it sold
so avoiding the m6 and a50 to head to hinckley for point rally popped in and had a look
itd been lowered but theyre small enough already - had screen and grabrail which was handy (nearly 400 from kwak
)but was looking at nx500 cos updated dash twin disc and done lots of miles with that engine
there was one where the kwak was so had a look but heading down thru leics and warks to oxford found another that theyd only just got but no pics but good desciption but it was in bournemouth
friend lives local and took some pics - looked ok and although leggy for a 24 bike it had been serviced 2k before and only by them
so from faringdon down the monday and had a poke and with no notice a little test ride - which blew me away as i wasnt expecting that - but it was only for 5 mins all i wanted to know was how it rode with 19 inch wheel seeing as i freaked when testing the cf moto 450
apart from getting lost
went all ok and so down to the haggletheirs is 1200 cheaper than 3 local ones with a third the miles but as i said didnt care all about the condition
offered x for mine but not as much as i wanted but more than places previously on bikes roughly the same as this one
i offered him 400 less for his and asked for more for mine
5 mins of umming and ahhing and him trying to stick to his £
i said if you did that........i pulled wallet from pocket and put it on the table..........
he got to 100 of what i wanted and knocked 400 off the honda
deal done (oh shit) - i told them dont prep it just pump up the tyres and check fluids - but they cleaned it anyway
luckily the bags still fit on the back (the honda seat is bigger than the enfield and chunkier grabrails)
ring the insurance and after a lot of fucking about re model names (dont ask) insured taxed and changed the ferry booking
rode back to faringdon and collected it tuesday - then rode straight to newhaven
going down from faringdon and back then collecting it was still less miles than one way from up here
