I've been enlisted to help in this by an 84 year old F800GT rider, and believe me, he's no slouch on a bike (used to race).
Bike run and BBQ on Sunday 22/06/2014 to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Start point Tesco, Knocknagoney (East Belfast area) at 9:30am, the run takes in "The Hills and Coasts of County Down" finishing at Newtownards Sailing Club for a BBQ at about 3pm having covered about 180 miles.
Option 1 is to take part in the run, for which a £10 donation is requested at the start, this includes a ferry ticket for the Strangford Ferry and a mid-point cuppa & biscuits.
Option 2 is to also join us for the BBQ at the finish point, where a further donation of £15 per person is requested, 50% of which will go to Marie Curie. A ticket is required in advance for this option, obtainable from the organiser (details below).
I know it seems a lot of dosh, but it's for a very good cause.
The bike run will be preceded by a pub quiz at the Saltwater Brig, Kircubbin on Friday 20th June at 8.30pm, also raising funds for Marie Curie.
