Just the heads up to those with Markerstudy multi-bike policies.

Several folk I know have had their renewal declined with the broker stating that this has been happening to quite a lot of their customers.
Seems they may be pulling out of this market segment or from specific brokers, not sure really.
Bikesure have just told me the same story as my own Markerstudy policy is up for renewal in 30 days so I may be looking for another underwriter.
No great shakes really as I have been less than impressed by Markerstudy and was considering a move anyway.

If you have such a policy it may pay to research well before the renewal / decline notice lands 14 days before planned renewal date.

they are rubbish but have quite a dominant position in the market, underwriting policies and not long ago taking over a load of familiar brokers like C Nash, Swinton, Express and others.
When I had two bikes it was cheaper to have them on separate policies, one with Ageas via Bennetts, the other with Aviva via Devitt.

Don’t do it. Worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with them. The 3rd party insurance company was easier to deal with. Wankers. JJH

A word of warning you’ll probably lose the ncb on the second/subsequent bike(s) as it’s one policy for all your bikes not separate policies. Happened to me last year when I moved brokers, luckily the second bike is cheap to insure so didn’t have too much of an impact, annoying though.

My multi-bike policy with Bikesure, underwritten by Markerstudy is up for renewal. Called Bikesure yesterday and managed to renew the policy covering my R1300 GSA and the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 with Ageas. Came up a lot cheaper than last year with Markerstudy, so pretty happy.

I've been looking on the bike insurer for my insurance that expires next month and Hastings do multibike policies if that's of any use to you?

Currently with Marjerstudy via cornmarket who want over £300, while many others are offering cover for half that!

When a drunk hit the back of my Mrs bike at a roundabout, clearly pissed up, he jumped out, appologised, gave me his details, said he would move his van out of the way and fucked off, plod caught him, but took hours to get him on a breathalyzer so by then he blew under, having been well over at time of capture, but he admitted causing the accident, pleaded guilty in court for driving without due care in relation to the accident and.....

... Marker Study wanted to go "knock for knock" because his insurer said there was insufficient evidence to prove it was their clients fault, oh, and I had the whole thing on a bike camera!!!!

Got White Dalton solicitors on the case having binned off the chimpanzees provided by Marker Study and after 1st contact they admitted and offered to pay for repairs, but we got extra for injuries and bike kit etc.

Bikesure renewal via Marker study on multi-bike policy £485, next cheapest Ageas £642.
Considering Markerstudy scale of charges for mid-term adjustments, dire reputation in claims, shit communication and inflexibility regarding certain accessories, I think it is worth the extra going with Ageas.
Will be junking them when my other two Markerstudy bike policies become due for renewal.
