Looks great! so between the 1150GSA/1200GS/650Dakar, what was the optimal bike for a trip like this?

Well, I would have to say the Dakar (but I am biased).

The Dakar was obviously not as fast on the motorway through Spain, but the others were happy to cruise at 80mph (at least they said they were).

None of the bikes suffered any mechanical failures.

Zmeagol had problems with his Jesse luggage, Dfor had a recurrent loose indicator mount and Bigrob's adventure developed a strange desire to lay on it's side (reducing the fuel capacity of his tank slightly!!)

Hi Nick,
We were in Morocco in April and I recognise many of the places in the pix - including the GSAdv laying down feeling (twice in my case!). I hope you had as great a time as we did. Did you do the Riff & ChefChaoun?
Best
Charlie

Charlie,

Yes we did the Rif. Not our favourite place. Too many people pushing drugs and kids throwing stones at the bikes.

We were late arriving in Morocco and it was getting dark as we left the mountains - got to Fes around 11:00.

The road between Meknes and Ceuta is much beter !!

Nick.

Nice pictures! Here's a picture of me on the alternative bike in the High Atlas.
