mauritania, sierra leone, liberia, ivory coast safe to go?

a while back id convinced myself it was safe to visit these countries (in my mind it still is - kind of), but ive been reading the website of doom (fco website) which is pretty gloomy. anybody been / know of people that have travelled through recently? cheers.
