What is the maximum size you can have on rear tyre for a R 100 GS without incurring any issues of fowling

From past experience it depends on type of tyre Road or off road due to the block tread being quiet wide. The problem is usually the shock although you can gain a little using a K series will spacer but only a couple of mm. so Standard 130 is really about it.
Alt depends on how rear wheel is spoked. Can be done to 'move' rim towards the left to accommodate wider tyre

Not easy on a cross spoke rim, without dismantling the wheel and re drilling the hub and rim.
And you usually have to destroy the spokes to remove them, so it gets expensive!
Not a lot of point either, just get some decent tires and you will be fine - Anekee Wilds or Adventures are around the best.
If you put performance above looks, that is!
