MCC Exeter Trial 2014

Hi how tough is class A - E, I ride a 650 xchallenge green laning an manage to ride most lanes without a problem. I fancy having a go and want to have an idea what I am letting myself in for!

Hi, I've had a few medals competing on my XChallenge but then I've been riding trials for a long time. But the MCC sections are just green lanes or just like green lanes anyway, often rough and steep. Remember two wheel drive cars go round the same course as well. Only real way to find out is to enter. Entries for the next Exeter are now closed but I'll post when entries for the Land's End open.

Cheers,

Ian.

Thanks Ian

I will keep an eye out for the lands end one and get in quick.

Received roadbook today, going to be busy over next few evenings. Can only see 1 BMW in the entry list. Anyone else from here entered?

I'm in! Nice warm car for a change though:D.
Was offered the chance to drive a mates Suzi X90 in class O so seemed rude not to.
What no are you Grim rider? We are No. 544 so come and say hello, lots of tools on board as well!
Good luck.

Sorry didn't see this until got home tonight (5 hours back from Torquay). Was 504. Bike ran like clockwork so luckily didn't need any tools. It was a bit wet in the night wasn't it!

Glad you had a good time. Yes, a bit soggy. I was v glad I was in a car for once!!!
Are you hooked now, Lands End next? ;-)
Will post some pic's when I get a moment.

Not sure whether I will do it again. It was a great adventure, but I would have to look at a different way of getting there (9 hours there and back sat on the 250 was pretty tiring!) and I need to improve some of my off-road skills as well!

Hi Tufty,

I claimed a Silver medal at the end after going the wrong way on one of the sections :blast

It rained pretty hard most of the night but cleared up a little in the morning. Some sections had acquired a stream

Stayed over at the finish and had a hellish ride back - just washed and lubricated the bike and almost dried out....

Looking forward to the Land's End, entry going in tonight. Hope a few GSers can enter.

Cheers,

Ian.

Hi Grim,

Saw your bike parked at Sparkford. Next time you could stay over near the finish which breaks up the journey somewhat and also a good opportunity for a few  with your mates and a nice slow ride back the next day. I'm sure there will be a few GSers entering the Land's End.

Cheers,

Ian.

A few classics wait patiently while their owners have breakfast!

Tufty,

Did you get a smaller bike and are you entering the Land's End?

Cheers,

Ian.
