If I can get Trippy Jnr out of bed I might get down to watch a section, thanks for the info.

Yep, No. 72 . XR 400. Starting from Plusha.
Lets hope the weather improves.
Will try to say hello sometime.

finished :thumb

700 miles and 17 hours at the wheel, great fun a must.

Failed 3 hills so no medal for us, but front wheel drive and 750cc didn`t help.

We did well on a timed section. in the woods as we were quick off the mark.

LOADS on youtube of the trial, to get you interested, I was asked by an organiser " Where are your GSer mates"

" Not HARDCORE enough for them there in Istanbull " I replied.

Got there 2.45pm ish PANDA wouldn`t go up Blue Hills 2 so did Old Blue Hills.

Then parking in car park and watched nothing but winching for 10 minutes.

Then into finish 3.30 ish.

Nothing was going up there so didn`t bother to try and hold up the trial any longer then people were that were trying.

Managed it on the 1150 two years ago, how I will never know.

We both got finishers certificates is it me or are MCC events getting harder? Some of the restarts were very tricky this year and Blue hills 2 caught me out which is a first for me I have always got up it in the past on a solo (but never on my sidecar)

We left home at 3pm on Friday did the trial then came straight home got home at 4.30pm Saturday so just over 25 hours we both had a great time and will be back next year

Bakerman are you doing the testing trail? If so we will see you there :thumb

Had some friends stay over so I couldn't get to see the Lands End. Well done to everyone who finished. I hope to get a car later this year with a view to entering next years trials :)

Still sleepy

What a night!
Drove to St Agnes to the (cheap) chalet we had booked. Unloaded the bikes, three solos and a sidecar and set off for Plusha at about 4pm. An easy hour got us to the start. very windy on the A30 though. After leaving plusha we got as far as Holsworthy before getting caught in a storm:o. Arrived at Bridgwater control at about 10.00pm.
The 98 miles so far was my wife sues longest non stop ride so far and she had wet cold feet already. Found a radiator to try to dry her socks before we set off on the trial proper!
Leaving Bridgwater at 11.42pm the weather had improved but the wind was v.cold. A good steady run through the night with us all staying clean until the Roundswell control Nr. Barnstaple.
Sue was starting to feel v.tired now so we had a goo break and a warm up in the service station. As we left there Sue had a rear puncture about a mile up the road so it was aquick tube change (at 4a.m!) and we were on our way again. Sue even managed to sleep for 10 mins on the verge while we fixed her tyre!!
We reached the refreshment stop just before Bradworthy where we stopped for tea and cake at about 6.60 am. Sues really exhausted now and I thought that was it for her so told my mates to go on and we would rest up for a while. We sat in someones garage out of the wind and Sue had about 20 min sleep. I had got directions back to the A39 and was planning to take her to the finish the quickest route but she felt a bit better after her rest and wanted to go on, especially as she was still clean up to then!!

We trundled on nice and steady and although we were mixed up with the cars by then either they or the marshalls waved us to front at the sections so we arrived at the brekfast halt only 10 min after the others.
They were pretty surprised to see us as they didn't think Sue would be able to go on seeing the state of her earlier.

After breakfast and a sleep in a garden shed we all set off together again.
Sue lost her first mark at (I think) Warleggan but at least she was still going.
It had been a very cold night but at least we had stayed dry and it was nice to have some sun for the final run down to Perranporth control.
A misfire on my mates sidecar was sorted by draining the carb so we set off for Blue hills and the finish.
At Blue hills 1 I stalled the XR on the restart so maybe threw away the trial there:o Ho Hum. Flew up Blue hills 2 though as did Sue with a bit of leg work but she had done it.
Just the 6 mile to sign off at Scoorier and 23 hours and 360 miles after leaving on Fri. its all over.
We sat down and sue just switched and very nearly keeled over but some coke and cheesy chips sorted her out!!!
rested for an hour and then 8 miles back to the chalet for sleep.
The plan was to go back to Blue hills and watch the cars but we were all too knackered!!
Well done everyone for finishing especially Sue, I'm so proud of you:clap:clap:clap

Sorry I didn't speak much Steve but as you saw Sue was in a bit of a mess1

Afraid we had Euans cousin over from the states and I couldn't see him wanting to drive to Cornwall to stand in a freezing and wet wood.
Well done all, rather you than me.
