Hi GSers,
New to this site but been lurking for a while.
I represent The Motor Cycling Club that runs three overnight trials each year aimed at trailbikes and older machines. I notice some subscribers already compete and in some cases do very well.
There's recently been some questions regarding availability, or lack of availability, of section-suitable 17" tyres for the trials that comply with the club's tyre regulations and are suitable for bigger trail bikes. This has been putting off some riders of bigger trail bikes from entering. So:
For a trial period of the 2010 season, bikes in class C (over 450cc) will be allowed to have Continental TKC80 Twinduro tyres fitted.
That's the short version. There is in fact a list maintained by the club for class C but the Twinduro is currently the only tyre on it. Other tyres that conform to the existing rules are still allowed.
Hope to see a few more BMWs on the hills next year.
More info on the club here. Or send me an e-mail, details here.
Cheers,
Ian.
