I should have known it was never going to be simple :D

It's Ireland FFS, nothing's ever that simple here :augie

"What time" ?

Did we skip "What day" ?

Bin
We'll have to wait for Gerry to tell us that, he's probably out now, as we speak, looking for some of the most amazing
tracks and trails you could wish for, what a man. :clap

Yep - I've been up in Donegal getting the Serow very dirty.

I'm more than happy to organise a walk up Carrauntoohil; but be realistic - a run; shit you'd need to be mad fit to run up it.

I'm only in the door - will be back later - calm down folks. :D

Whooaa - who said anything about walking :eek::eek:

and what's 'running' - is it Celtic for something? :nenau

Gerry are you organising a weekend for hill walkers and another weekend for GSer's " Good man Gerry"

Fair play to ya Gerry, some people would have to be cajoled into organizing a run, but for you to volunteer like this, out of the blue.. :clap:clap

It's about time I revisited the reeks (I'm a McGillicuddy) - anybody know them really well to show me around?

Right, lets start all over again and take things nice and easy. You may ride around the Reeks but to see them properly and really experience them you need to park your bike and walk.
If walking is not your thing I would be happy to point at them from afar in your and your bikes presence. If half the really nice people who frequent this site similarly wish to point their fingers and their GSes; well who am I to deprive them.
The following four weekends are spoken for although I am taking a group climbing nexy Sunday - feel free to tag along but the group are fit lads (cyclists).
That brings us to Nov 17th / 18th.
So lets be hearing from youse all. The area around the Reeks also has limited trail riding potential; the Dingle peninsula is better.
MP what is your best time - as you started this I'm giving you first shot. :mcgun :hide

Sorry folks perhaps I should have worded the original post better :o

I was always talking about a GS trip (Cornwall to Kerry on a pogo would be a bit much). I never considered walking or running, it was never in my mind. But I did post on the GS site not the Ramblers Association :aidan

I appreciate your knowledge and offer Gerry (I used to be in a Mountain Rescue team in the the Lake District), but since my heart attack, serious walking is unfortunately out.

I'll just continue the thread on a GS basis if that's ok :thumb

It's more than OK - it's me who picked you up incorrectly. I'm still gladly available on a GS basis - I like biking as well as walking - and could do a mid week with a bit of notice. That will not suit the rest of the gang - but you asked first.

Three days and not a squeek; have I scared ye? :hug
Last week youse were all guff and banter, :jibber
I make an offer and silence. :nenau
Don't use reverse psychology.

Gerry.. Don't let the silence lull you into a false sence of security...
There's a gang (Myself, Jockser, Daithi, Kyle, Shinobi, Dakar Gal, BB1 etc) heading over to Wales for the Cambrian...
As soon as we get back you should brace yourself for the onslaught...

Hi Gerry

I'm up for a walk in the hills but 4 weeks away is getting into winter territory and to be honest I'm n bot sure my walking gear is up to it. If you are planning a walk after 21st November I'm up for it, sure I could always double back if I was getting soaked. I can't help thinking the bikes would be an easy target for theft with us being up a mountain out of sight, is the parking secure?

Cheers

Bill
