MCN?

I'd wouldn't advise anyone to look for useful information in MCN. It's best suited to car drivers who like to 'keep up' with motorcycling.

And whatever they say about any bike tested in isolation, they are likely to contradict as soon as they carry out a group test.

there's a fair bit of paper in it which is useful for fire lighting during this cold snap, but it's an expensive way of acquiring kindling....:)

You mean it doesn't do 200 MPH and 0-60 in 2 seconds;what a pile of crap:augie
Have i told you how i got my knee down on a roundabout in Basingstoke once.:blagblah

Cue picture of an MCN tester in racing leathers on the gravel at the edge of their car park testing it's "off road" capabilities:augie

If you understand the term 'update' in BMW speak then you've probably done the right thing....or are you in some way unhappy with yours:augie

Totally happy :)...except I can't ride it cos of the compacted snow outside....

My 1200gs (never ridden an 1150 or earlier model so I can't compare) is the best bike I've ever owned and all I expected it to be:D

i thought they'd ditched the "funny indicators". probably to appease the sort of cretin that takes MCN seriously.

Yea. Now they've now switched to 'funny' indicators that no-one ('cept Proff) understands anymore. All operated by your left thumb??? Nah - It'll never catch on. Touratech will be doing mod kits by Easter, you mark my words!

I just bought a new one because there was an update due, can't be waiting two years to locate and iron out the bugs :augie

Bowing to the greater experience being posted here I feel much better in being reassured I've done the right thing.:thumb2

I was only joking but I seem to have this Eeyore/Marvin effect that when I buy something, whatever it is gets superceded by a new model, or if I move my place of work the old place gets completely re-furbished...it's as if someone is trying to tell me something.

The "old" model will certainly do for me for the foreseeable future, who wants more power at my age anyway? :)

The bikes at the NEC all had the paddle indicators and (shock horror ) MCN's article says " Add all that to the GS’s unchanged and peerless ergonomics". Perhaps the morons don't understand what the big word means but could it be they like the indicators ? :augie

Emperors New Clothes......

I expect if MCN gets a long term loaner, they'll post pictures of some bike testing knob hoiking a minger on the back wheel in 2nd gear, then wax lyrical about the increased horsepower, smoothness, responsiveness blah blah.....

With all the recent snowfall we are running a little low on loo roll, maybe MCN is soft, strong and very very long ???

My '04 bike only has 40k on it, don't think I'll bother 'upgrading' to the next latest thing for another 5 years by which time it will have paid for itself.

Great comments lads..........

Managed to get a pic before they set off from the MCN office on the 2010 GS's (attached)
