Great guys! :beerjug:

Picked up the bike this morning with the new Wilbers rear in and what a difference. Darren went over a few things about the change over, he wasn't supposed to be in but came in so I could pick the bike up today.

The ride is certainly way ahead of where it was and I have to think seriously about replacing the front.

Thanks guys!

I hrear good things about MCT - what did it cost you, if you don't mind me asking. My stock shock rides like a busted sofa...

No point just sorting one end. My previous GS had Wilbers and it was very confidence inspiring when pressing on compared to the stock kit.

Excellent!! And I would seriously think abut the front as well.

They did the pair on mine and it's superb!! :D

MCT have done a ZZR1400, GS and the Tenere for me, all have been masively improved.

Had Wilburs front and rear on GS, plenty about how great they are elsewhere (Wilburs) and MCT are always fantastic to deal with.

Yeah there is. I've run with stock front and Wilbers rear for the last 3 years on my GSA.
I've just stuck a Wilbers on the front which I couldn't afford before, and its certainly improved things a bit, but nowhere near as much as the rear did.
The standard rear is woefully inadequate, but the front copes ok. You know how I ride...

If you can't afford both, there's LOTS of point in sorting out the rear first (on a 58 plate GSA at least).

Hi and HNY to all
I would just add a note of caution. Am glad you are all happy with MCT, but Darren tried to improve the front end of a Sprint ST for me and despite returning was always too stiff, all right for a track ,but not for some of these bumpy Suffolk roads. I did tell him what riding I do.

Spot on there mate. Only do the front if you can really afford it because the rear does all the hard work:thumb

Some bikes benefit more from one end than the other, the front end on my ZZR was awful, and many owners do just sort the front, expecially for solo use.

In my experience most bikes are a bit softly sprung and underdamped and a pillion tends to push them from being a bit soft, to wobbly and horrible, sorting the rear shock will make a huge difference.

Of course it is better to do both, and I have on most my bikes, the GS front felt much smoother with the Wilburs and I got more feedback from the front tyre, but if I only had the money for one it would have been the rear.

Same story with my Tenere, the Front was OK-ish, but the rear struggled badly two-up with luggage, I would not want to set off on my two-up Alps trip with the stock shock, but could have lived with the Front end.

I did both as the front was only a couple of hundred quid to sort, and again it now feels far more plush and responsive.
