I'm not familiar with the A7...can you suggest where Snodog could meet us.

The village of Stow is 10 miles north of Galashiels. There's a crossorads near the southern end of the village. Signposted to Lauder (left/east) and Stagehall (right/west). If you pull up onto the pavement on the left immediately after the junction then there is space for several bikes.

I should be there at 11 and as we don't have to go into Selkirk now, the back route is an even better option.

Ronno mate, seems i've made a 'spherical objects up'. BMW club's AGM is being held on that date and tho' i'm intending to resign my membership i've promised a mate i'll deliver some ironmongery to site.If I can arrange something between now and then i'll be there. Am really looking forward to this, dash!
see you

Planned route and times.

Is there anyone else from the North attending this meet ?
I’ve had a couple of pm’s asking about my route and timings, so if anyone wants to join me here is my approximate plan.

Leaving the Fort about 7.00 A82
Leaving Crianlarich by 8.00 A85
Lochernhead 8.30 A84
Perth about 9.00 M90 to the FRB in time for a coffee.

I know I’d be quicker taking the A9 from Dalwhinnie but I cant be arsed with the A9 :P
Not sure if I'll be back on-line after 9.00pm but you can text me on 0771 891 6981 and I'll check that on my fag breaks in the morning.

Looking forward to this run. :D

Who's Complete Tw@t Then?

We had an excellent meet up at St Mary's Loch with the NE lads. I counted over thirty bikes parked up outside the cafe! Robbo, G.C., Stumpi and his better half (sorry, I'm terrible with names...and wet roads!) met up at the Forth Road Bridge. We the headed over to A7 at Stow where we teamed up with Spy In The Camp. Kai then took us over some great back roads to meet up with the NE lads and Den who had made his way south on his ownio. He had some dodgy deal to do apparently. :D Unfortunately, the heavens opened and there was even a hint of sleet!

Everyone mixed well and some of the braver souls had a ride out after lunch. Kai again took us over some good and lesser known roads that only a local would know. Unfortunately (for me anyway!), at a 90 degree left hander, whilst riding at a very low speed, my front wheel went from beneath me on some shit/grease on the road and I came off :( :o . Crash bars did their job (but will now need renewed) and I was totally uninjured but it didn't have put a dent in my day's fun!

At a refuelling stop at Peebles, the Scottish lads decided to head north and Kai set off into the sunset heading south with all the NE boys. I hope they had a great run. By that time, I was so pissed off that I couldn't get home quick enough and my concentration levels were dangerously low... :nono

It was a great turn out from everyone and I hope my wee spill only spoiled it for me. It was great to meet so many new faces.

P.S. I'll post a couple of pix later on...

Excellent day out, weather was good for Scotland:D As soon as we got over the border the roads dried out and we had a canny run back.
Glad you were OK Ronnie, Excellent new roads rom Kai, will have to take Mrs F up there next year.
Shame I ended up with a wallet full of "Monopoly money", Cheers Den:D

Really sorry to hear this Ronno, main thing is you are OK, the bike/crash bars can always be fixed.

With regard to a spill ... it can and will happen to all of us, its only a matter of being in the right place at the wrong time. :(

Keep the pecker up and get out again on your favourite stretch of road real soon :thumb

Good to meet everyone, even if I haven't a clue who you were.

I look forward to future meets.

Hello peeps. Sorry I couldnt join you all for the ride out as someone in Scotland has to look after the populations lights.

Dodgy dealings Ronno? Nothing dodgy at all. It was just that Frisky had always wanted man sex behind the cafe at St Mary,s loch ever since he visited it as a young friskyish lad. He was so grateful, he gave me his Touratech panniers as a reward.

Its a pity about yer wee off though. Yer becoming a liability Ronny !! At least you made it home under your own steam this time. Ive still got spare indimicator lenses if you broke any.

Glad everyone had a good time. Here is a pic of the kick off.

BLACK BELTS AMONG US...

Another enjoyable aspect of todays Borders Meet was witnessing the Martial Arts display by Den Nagasaki, a Black Belt Forth Den in Shoto Kan't and his Sensi. It was a joy to behold and showed us all that Yer Never Too Auld Tae Rumble...

Here is Den and (Gie's a Tokyo Joint) Frisky about to commence their bout on the left of the pic...

Good to meet up with some of you at last. Glad you liked the route. To be honest, most of it was suggested by Stool beforehand.

I'll be happier to do those roads with a new tyre though!

Got home in the nick of time as there seems to be a gale blowing out there!

Till the next time.

Kai

I was on the phone to G.C. at 20.00 hrs. He was just in the door at F.W. having left my house at the back of 16.00 hrs. He'd encountered miles long tail backs in the Perth area, torrential rain and gale force winds on his way home.

Glad everyone made it home in one piece and judging by the posts and PMs I've received, everyone had a good day oot! :thumb

..and here would appear to be the proof, Den...
