I read the thread on how many HP2 Enduro`s were made . I just wondered how many MM`s have been made and will BMW discontinue the line at some point . I won`t be in a position to buy for a few months yet and have promised meself a new bike

I asked a dealer yesterday if they are still being made, he said not any more.

There are two left in the country (one at Riders in Cardiff that I've just bought) and one at BMW HQ.

No others are coming in as far as I'm aware.

Being a bit of an anorak, I looked into this a while back, and believe the last Megamoto's were built in November 2008.

By my calculations I made a total of 1,732 HP2 Megamoto's built, compared to BMW's confirmed figure of 2,910 HP2 Enduro's.

Have never managed to find a confirmed figure for UK Megamoto's, early on there was a figure of 30 bikes being bandied around in the bike press, but never seen anything from BMW.

No, I only found the HP2MM and HP2E numbers because I had the US and EU VIN number sequences and then check them through RealOEM.com. I came up with the exactly the same number of HP2E's as BMW confirmed, so see no reason that the HP2MM number shouldn't be correct. But, I don't know the number sequences for the Sport.

Good detective work Joe Bar, if we can get to the bottom of 'how many MM owners are members here' all we then to do is run through all the others we have seen out and about !?!.

I live down in Cornwall, on all my trips around the south west, I haven't seen another one on the road. Apart from the demo bike that was doing the rounds nationally in 2006/7 - wonder who bought that.

My humble guess is that quite a few have now gone abroad, when I was looking for one last spring/summer, 5 were listed on the bmw dealer-net site. One by one 3 of them were sold and taken across the channel, of the two that were left, Bengaz bought one and I had the other. There haven't been any listed for some months now. I think we could be lucky if have as many as 15 to 20 left here now.

I took one of those to Portugal and my mate here bought another and as far as I know and the local BMW dealer know these are the only two in Portugal.

That would surprise me, the last MM VIN numbers I found were November 2008 build dates, which means it's taken them over a year to flog the last ones off, so I can't see them rushing out with another just yet. They'll need to off load all the Sport's first

We got just 106 for the whole USA, and I know that at least five have been written off. It doesn't take much of an off to have the forks come round and whack the frame, so bikes that look pretty ok are insurance write offs.

I have heard that all MM's are done, as is the HP2S, the DOCH HP2 motor will be the mainstay of all the new twins, from police bikes to GS's and everything in between. The good news is there are some very fun big twins coming in 2011.

There are two brand new one's with uk dealers at the moment and they are building ones in BMW colours for the Japenese market 20 or so, my guess is that they will do the same over here
