meltdown!!!

Talking with my mate at Rainbow yesterday and we got discussing the new Garmin 2610 and its pros and cons
"The new one also has a fuel resistant case" says he
"what!!" says I
Apparently if you splash enough fuel on to the SPC III (not that difficult really!) then the plastic melts and disintegrates.
Any one prepared to put this theory to the test?
Just thought a warning may be useful
