Having had a particularly fine ride around the Brecons I wanted to share the route with some friends. Downloading the route from the 550 resulted in three seperate routes which I want to merge into one. If I cut & paste each into a new file they remain as seperate routes. Is there any way I can merge these routes to create just one file that will load into the 550 as a single route?

Are these track-logs or actual routes, there's a difference.

Track-logs can be merged by selecting multiple tracks in the tracks pane on the left, hold down your Ctrl key and select the tracks you want to merge, then right click and select 'join the selected tracks'.

There isn't a merge facility for routes that I know of but it's not too much of a task to trace out the route you need.

To effectively navigate you'll need to do this, using the track-log as a guide, anyway. There are methods to convert a track-log to a route but none that I've seen are particularly effective. Far better to do this by hand IMHO.

They are routes as exported from the Zumo to the PC. I'm not that familiar with this process but I guess in this case it's not that difficult to redraw it. Next time I will remember not to turn the Zumo off so it keeps a days ride as one route.

They'll be track-logs then, not routes in the true sense of the word.

Sorry if teaching to suck eggs but for the purpose of claification:

Technically a route is something you set-up in Mapsource before going out and riding it. It will contain a relatively limited number of routing nodes. On-road these will define the route by influencing where it goes at key points but it will still follow the road. Off-road it'll just be a point-to-point affair with straight lines between the nodes, you'll probably need more of them. Obviously you'll need to set your Zumo up in off-road mode in the routing preferences in the navigation menu.

Track-logs are created as you ride dropping nodes randomly but frequently. there will be hundreds, if not thousands in each log. You can get these to display on screen by setting logs to show in the map menu. You could then follow them on screen I suppose.

No, thanks for the input, as I said, this is something I have not tried to do before. I will have another play around when I have some time. Thanks for input.
