Hi Folks

The Meta alarm on the GS seems to have packed in and I intend to remove it.

Has anyone experience of this procedure? If so can you let me know if its difficult / easy etc etc.

The bike is a 1100GS

Thanks !

David

I removed one from my 1100, fairly straightforward job, just take your time and deal with one wire at a time. All the alarm wires were the same colour, but where they have spliced into the loom will still be colour coded.

Oh and after you have put the tank back on remember to check the throttle cables are seated correctly. :augie

I agree, quite an easy job, there are only one or two wires you need to repair, once you get all the alarm wiring out, if I remember correctly.

it is easy but there will be /should be to cuts on the bike
dont cut any wires just remove tanks and open up loom trace all wires before you cut and joint
solder all wires then heat srink then tape up then tie rap one end .so the tape doest unrap

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. Going to tackle the job this weekend so will post a few pics about the procedure for future dismantlers !

DONE !

All sorted, took us 2 hours altogether.

As advised, just a case of taking one wire at a time.

The only thing I didnt remove were 2 diodes attached to two wires near a multi plug. I assume these are to prevent indicator feedback but everything works anyway.

There was only one wire to re-join which was soldered and nicely covered up.

Cheers folks !
