Any one used the Metal Mule exhaust? Looks like an answer to melting panniers. Just worried about the long top mounting flexing and breaking.
Also how noisy is it. I have a Remus on at the moment and love it but it can be a bit wearing on a long trip.
I would'nt mind a look at one if there's someone not to far from Manchester. :thumb

Have you the baffle in or out of the Remus?

The Metal Mule exhaust is made by Scorpion of Derby mate.
I have one. It came with a removable baffle. I like the exhaust but the people at Scorpion were realy good to deal with and helped me sort out my lean spot.

Would reccomend.... :thumb

Hi BB, can you elaborate on that? how did you know you had a lean spot & how did they help you sort it? did you have the baffle in or out when you had that problem?

Cheers

I have the baffle in but I also have the Y piece. The pannier rails (standard BM adv ones) get very sooty and hot, have tried to reposition the box and got the remus shield better but not cured. The Metal mule looks ok if it is strong enough. Mounting looks a bit weak just after any one seen or one or had one fitted. :thumb

Lee,

Lean spot showed up on Dyno run mate, IMO any one changing exhausts should get one. Scorpion lads put my bike on their Dyno and helped me set up a Techlusion unit (TFI). They even ordered the TFI for me and got it trade..!

Daft as it sounds my bike was running slightly richer with the baffle out...!..way that one up if you like.

To be honest, the lean spot was not that bad but I`m a bit of a funny fecker and have to have things just so if you know what I mean.. ;)

The thing was that the Scorpion lads were sound and they and I had a good laugh setting the bike up on their Dyno.

I was with them for a few hours in their technical and research department, it was just a good way to be treated IYKWIM... ;)

owt else you want to know.....Giz a shout mate....... :thumb

It's noiser than the standard BMW but quiter than the Remus. (baffles in) I don't find it tireing (although I agree the Remus could be) but I also wear earplugs which probably helps...

You're more than welcome - but I'm sure there'll be someone closer to you. :thumb
