not a 1200 question specifically.....
but a recent gearbox oil change showed quite a few metal shavings in the old oil...the largest is about 2-3 millimeters and there are hundreds of the little blighters. having never changed gearbox oil myself before, i realise a certain amount of wear is usual here (more so than engine)...but should i worry?
why might this be and what preventive maintenance can i do to look after the hurty bits as much as possible...?!
no gearbox symptoms apart from the usual bmw clunky noisy shifting.
cheers all
PS i have a 2006 r1200gsa; and filled it with SAF-XO as even castrol themselves seem confused as to what to put in the gearbox...what do others use?
