Hi all, anyone know how convert to or a conversion site where I can figure out metric wires sizes to SAE size? I see 0.35 , 0.50 , 0.75 etc on the wire schematic but trying to figure what that means in US size like 14ga, 24ga etc. Thanks.

probably easier if you just compare current ratings, they'll both be in amps :)

You may find it a bit long winded, but go on the American SAE website. I remember finding wire sizes on it some time ago.
Just checked Machinery's Handbook and there is a table of direct comparisons.

Thanks Cookie and Stevie, I found the table in the MH comparing Brit/SAE etc and it does give the diameter in inches. Would the numbers on the 12GS wiring diagrams be dia in mm? Such as a wire labeled RT 0.35, be Red 0.35mm or do the numbers have some German only meaning and I'll need to learn the secret handshake?

it's the area of a section through the wire i think, but it's getting late now

edit: some specs here may help you :)
