Hi Lads and ladies.
any ideas how long a rear metz tourance should last on a 1150 gsa, i have around 3mm left, trekking off to espana shortly ,wondered if i could get away with not buying a new tyre yet.
:blast many thanks

No
Unless you drive like a complete wooooooooooooooooooz.
You have to get back again:rob

i'd certainly be buying a new one in your position.

console yourself with the thought that a new tyre will be less puncture prone :)

Depends how far you're going to travel in Spain. The back roads are made of a very hard stone (granite?) and are tough on tyres.

I once had to change a tyre (Goldwing rear:blast ) and although the tyre was sourced very quickly, it was VERY expensive compared to the UK.

IMHO if you need to :rob :rob ask the question, you would not be confident on your tyres, which could spoil some of your holiday enjoyment even if they lasted OK. The way I see it is... 3mm of tread = 1mm before you're down to the legal min for Spain (2mm for the UK) so you could argue you're only 'wasting' about 10% of the tyre = about £12.50 and you'd then have to replace it when you got back home. I would change it before I go

got 11000 miles on the front

and 10500 on the back - at that point the rubber was flaking off big time, could see the material through large holes. Still kept me going for another 700 miles! That was in India by the way - not many replacements around.

Got another pair on - v impressed with them so far.:aidan
