Metzeler Roadtec Z6

Anybody tried these on an RT? Just wondered as Metzeler seem to have a good reputation in general but I haven't used them in about 20 years, not since my CB250RS days......
There is a cracking ebay deal on a pair ( £160 delivered) from Bikespeed uk with MOT cost reclaimable as well, making the pair around the £130 mark.

I've been using z6's for years on my 1200rt, really good tyre and a great price.however,on my 1st rt I could rely on 7to8k mls. From a rear tyre but on my present rt I'm only getting around 3.5k mls. This has been the case over the past 5 tyres. No idea why but next change I will try z8s.

On three RTs I moved to Dunlop Roadsmarts. Triffic wet & dry grip. Good wear. Quick handling. Highly recommended.

Agree with you Martyn. I have had the same pair of Roadsmarts on two bikes (when I recently part ex my previous RT with nearly new Roadsmarts I had the dealer swop over the tyres onto my new bike). Best "all round" tyre I have tried on an RT. And they seem to cope best with the BMW funny suspension and don't cup and howl like all the Michelins I have tried. Also Dunlop must know they are good as the original Roadsmart's are still available even though in bike tyre terms, where a new updated tyre seems to come out every few months, they are an old design.

I've just put a pair of Z8's on my 2010 RT, superb tyres for the money, got them for £149 delivered PLUS I they are offering a free MOT (£29) voucher as well, £120 for a pair!

Hello the smudger, that looks like a great price. I've been using Pilot Road 3's for several changes on my 2011 RT but the front shoulders seem to wear out. Looking at replacements, the best price I can see for Z8's is about £200. One alternative I'm considering trying out are BT 023's which I can get for approx. £166. These prices are delivered from tyreleader. Can you reveal your supplier ? Thanks.

Got mine from Bikespeed uk, Tel 01506 811906, they list on ebay but were cheaper when I rang them direct. Delivered next day.

Got an email yesterday from Metzeler to say my cheque to refund the MOT was on it's way. I think the 'free mot' offer may have expired now though
Only reason I could see was that they were possibly slightly old stock, about 14 months old.

They have Pilot Power 2CT on offer at the moment for £149 in RT sizes. Tempted to stock up.. but haven't fitted the Z8's yet as the bike passed the mot without needing them

I think these guys may be the last remnants of C & J Wilson, formerly of Uphall. Always a good bunch to deal with. Those prices are hard to argue with. Z8s currently on offer at £149 also. ( I called them.)

Yes indeed, C& J Wilson. The cheque came through for the MOT so £120 for a pair of OE tyres!
