So! Booked my bike(06GSA) in for a set of new rubbers today told the bloke to stick on what I had before metzeler tourance exp( I think they were called) anyway to cut a long story short he called me and said they had none of those in stock BUT we've got the 'metzeler tourance next' if you want them instead,so I thought yeah stick them on can't be much difference!!(same name ish Ect) SHOCK HORROR! When I went to pick it up bloody things looked like sumik I used to have on my sports bikes
I was gutted at how they looked, and kind of worried about how the bike would feel and respond
Un let me tell ya 150 miles later( in the words of my kids) I was 'buzzing' what difference.amazing grip,a good overall feeling the more I pushed the better they felt really really happy with them
But only time will tell on how long they last. I believe there a dual compound so should last a good distance
Anyone thinking of making the change? DO IT! IMO you'll never look back

I have got the "Nexts" on my GS and love them. Certainly around the twists on the continent my bike could out fumble my pals on their ZX10's and a GTR's with some ease. They also seem to be lasting very well. 3000 miles so far an loads of tread left, they also reminded me of my sports bike tyres! By the way I see your in North Yorks, I'm coming up to Pickering middle of September and will likely visit Squires.

I went from Contri trails to the Next, great in the wet, although they seem to track and have a minor buzz about them, a bit slow to roll but other than that cannot complain, if they give me close to 10k like I got out of the COnti;s more than happy, (I was told to expect 8k).

By coincidence Ive just had a 'Next' fitted to the front wheel today by Steve at F & B Tyres in Sandbach (I recommend Steve, and was much cheaper than everywhere else). They certainly do look different. Too early to tell any difference as I'm still bedding it in (only done 50miles on it). Had a tricky experience at a mini roundabout just a few minutes after fitting, was taking it real slow maybe 15 mph and and the new tyre bit into the road and made me take an exit off the roundabout I didn't want! I hate bedding in a new front tyre. By the time id got home it was feeling much better, but i need to bed it properly before I visit Cadwell Park next month.

Defo give us shout when you know the dates if I'm not working I'll have a brew with ya and maybe pop ova to Whitby or somewhere if ya fancy it?

I was out today with a couple of lads who have fitted the Nexts on their 1200gs's both guys said the were surprised how quickly the rear tyre squared off

I'm on my second rear tyre because they square off so quick. I had them fitted last summer and after a 2000 mile trip into the alps they were very squared off. The bike was fully loaded much of the time, but the Conti Trail Attacks that came on the bike didn't show as much wear with the same use. I wanted a sportier tire as I do track days on the bike. So I was ok if the tyre didn't last if it gave more grip, but they don't. I'll be trying something else next, maybe the Conti Road Attack 2 Evo's.
