Hi guys the 1150 was needing tyres so off to stathearn tyres and got a set of metzelers great price £185 FITTED .

:blast I just asked
I didn't get the same wear from the 'old' Tourances as I did the Conti's.
Am now running Conti RoadAttack 2's and they too are terrific.
Just my input ,of course :hide

Tourance everytime - the originals not the EXP's as well. Great grip in the wet and last for ages. Thats a good price too.:thumb2

Tourance EXP offers better grip, especially in the wet but at the cost of shorter life. I have them fitted to my GS and I really like them but I'll be lucky to get 4K miles out of the rear one.

I see that the new Tourance Next, as fitted to the water-cooled GS as OEM, claims more grip and longer life.

i'm talking 9,10,12 grand in miles from the Conti's.

My rear Conti 'Roadie' is at the wear band and has done over 9 thou.
I got somewhere around 12 from the Conti trailies.
My GSA wheels are sitting with a brand new pair of TrailAttacks but will fit the Conti RoadAttack 2 on the alloys again.

Ye got yer answers!

I took my GSA back cos it wobbled around with the Contis - a known fault....the nice folk at the sadly missed Motorrad Central in Glasgow offered me a different set of tyres but I asked them to replace the Contis as I quite liked them. The new ones didn't wobble and are OK - they just lack the secure, planted feel of the Tourance.
Grip wise I don't think there is anything in it- The Metzlers just feel better..

Have to agree about the trail attacks, I had them on my previous gs and will be replacing my current exp's with them. They feel more secure in bends and the bike feels to role better through the bends, plus they last longer.

It's all in the mind and your own confidence factor.
Personnally I can't see past BT020's .....but alas no longer available :(

My buddy however totally loves his Conti TrailAttacks

Speaks for itself I think

The left side followed shortly thereafter
