Michelin Anakee 2, Dunlop Roadsmart or Tourance (exp)? Which is Best??

Has anyone done enough miles on TR91 to know what sort of mileage they do? I seem to get about 5000 miles from anything other than original Tourance a few years back which were good for about 10000 but they gave the odd tight buttock moments.

Only done about 1100 on mine, seem to be holding their profile pretty well so far ..... :thumb

I think your bike must be running on one cylinder, my rear is on its last legs at 3500, may make 4k if I am very nice to it (Pretty unlikely) no idea how anyone could get 7k from one of these things :nenau I rarley cane the bike and just tend to roll around in the midrange, sure I could kill one in under 3k if I put some effort in.

I cane mine everywhere so I'm not sure why yours are wearing so quickly. I only ride solo with no/little luggage. 80 mile daily commute half motorway/dual carriageway at 80-90 mph the remainder back lane scratching and inner city. The tyre has kept it's profile well too, hardly squared off at all.

I reckon I have done about 50% of those miles two-up, although I tend to be a bit smoother and a shade slower two-up (I typically get better mpg when two-up)

New pair going on for Black Forest / Alps, this will be 3,000 miles nearly all two up with just under 1,000 miles of dual carriageways and motorways and the rest on very twisty roads.

Still can't fault the performance and the profile looks quite decent so apart from slightly dissapointing life I am very happy with them, will need another rear not long after I get back which should see me through the winter, may tr TR91's net spring, or PR3's?

Just gone from Anakee 2 to Tourance having done 1000s on each type from a road to autobahn and Notts to Alps Corsica, Slovenia etc. I think I'm in the cane everywhere section of riders mainly on road.

Hand on heart I can't really tell much difference.

My honest suggestion is to get the ones on the best deal or the ones you like the look of. Sorry sounds simplistic but I just don't believe there's much if any difference between two similar style Tyres.

Can't comment on road Tyres though other than to say I always have Bridgestones

Annakee 3

Bought my Gs Brand new last August and it came with Metzlers on it which i found to be ok

having just returned to biking after 15 years off it took me a while to get some serious lean angle coupled with a fair bit of 2 up touring squared the rear although after 5k there was still plenty of tread left and loads on the front.

However in preparation for the new season i have just replaced the metzlers with a set of Annakee 3s

So far my initial immpressions are

WOW what a difference

they feel so much more inspiring, the bike turns into the bends so much sweeter and seems to hold a much better line

time will tell on keeping profile and milleage and i will keep you all posted but i am very happy thus far

Ordered some Roadsmarts today and having them fitted next week, based on the last couple of comments and my riding style I don't have high hopes for their wear rates but if they perform as well and give similar feedback to EXP's Conti Road Attacks I won't have too many complaints, would be nice to see near 5 to 6k from a rear though

I like the Roadsmart's, but for mileage, in my experience, the 2's offer a significant advantage.
