Michelin Anakee Wild Tyres for the LC

These have been in the pipeline for ages. Looks like they are finally going to be available in the next month or so. I'm keen to try them out once my Anakee 3's need replacing in a couple of months. Should be good for some green lanes and sounds like the tarmac performance is pretty good too. Rated as a 50/50 tyre, but with the look of a 100% off road tyre to me.

Hopefully they won't square off at 3000 miles like the Anakee 3's the bike came with have done.

Mine have 5.5k on and still have life left. Will be buying another rear before I swap the pair for Road Pilots

Spoke to GTC in Chilworth. They are all on the system, but no availability yet. He only checked the front tyre, and its £85. Said check back in a couple of weeks and he'll give Michelin a call again.

Cheers for the heads up, after starting with Anakee 3's they lasted 11,500m on my bike, I swapped to Conti TKC70's which lasted 10,000m, I then strapped PR4's on for the winter riding as just on road.....so looks like I'll be giving these a go in Spring. Nice!

The tyres still have a fair bit of tread on them but the centre of the rear tyre is definitely looking past its best.

It depends on what you mean by "prematurely". They're quite a soft compound, so they grip well buy they do wear out fast. Mine were pretty shot front and rear at 3.5K miles.

Yes my last set of anakee 3's squared off at about that milage. Was pretty bad by 5000 miles. Think i changed them for PR4's at about 6500k.

It's amazing the difference in mileage that people are getting from their tyres.

I have a European trip planned approx 1500 - 2000 miles and I'm not sure if my tyres will last the trip.

Ideally I would like to buy a new set upon my return but don't want to spoil the trip worrying about the tyres and would rather not have to replace the tyres mid- trip.

If I buy new tyres before I go at this rate they will be about 50% worn out when I get back.
