Michelin Anakees Question

What sort of mileage do you get from a set?



My 07 1200GSA came shod with the above and look to be wearing quite rapidly. I'm soon to go on a Spanish tour and wondered if they would last the estimated 2.5k trip? At present they have 2.5k on them.

In the past I've always run Tourances, and I kept my last pair for 10k. Even at that the front was OK bu the rear was down to 1mm (I usually change at 2mm!).

From experience I know the Tourances would easily last the trip, but what about the Anakees?

1150GSA, me at 17 stone. Commuted each day all weathers. Got about 8k out of front and 6k from rear.

Whjat is the highest mileage obtained from a front tourance on a 1150 gs?.
I cahngeed the last one and according to my record book it had done
19000 miles! I must have missed entering a tyre change in the book musent I?.

I just changed my rear Anakee after 7½k miles.

On the 1150 I find the Tourances last longer, front is up to about 10k with loads left and get about 7 out the rear

2500 out of my previous rear and it started to doze too
i sent it off to Michelin to check and never heard back from them got a replacement out of them at reduced cost but it cost £75 and lasted under 3000 again.
some 2000 out of the 3000 would have been used going to Ukgser events and the looking for a loch inn trip so no real abuse.

good grip in the dry... not so good in the wet when down near wear limits

3500 out of the one before that... still not good

Anarkee Mileage

Greetings from the colonies,
My front Anarkee has about 15,00km and the rear has 9,000km at the moment with plenty of meat left.
1150GSA ridden by fat b@stard.
Mind you, that 9k was a little trot from near Sydney, across to Port Augusta, up to Alice Springs then Darwin, back to the Three Ways, Mt Isa, Longreach, Charlieville, Dubbo, home. About three corners in the whole trip and keeping the speed down to accomodate my mad mate on his DR650 !
Five States - three weeks - one very cranky wife on my return.

Changed my first front at just over 17k and then realised what an effect it was having on handling! Now change them as a pair although the front seems to have some life left.

Thanks for the replies of the Anakees. I'll just have to keep a close eye on them and make a valued judgement closer to the time.

Changing mine today at 4500 miles.

The rear is a bit shagged-I think a lap of the Nurburgrig last week finally did it.


Nice new Dunlop 607 Trailmax's going on this morning.
