At last my long awaited 1200GS has arrived at the dealers.
I pick it up next Thursday.....Yippee!!!
I have noticed it has the Anakees on not the Trailwings.
Are they anygood?

Don't worry, Anakees are just fine, especially with bad weather. Excellent grip on wet roads. Rubber is softer than that of the Trailwings. As I need 2 sets of tyres per year, I switch to Dunlop 607s in summer, since they are superior with fine weather.

Great on a real GS ... do wear quickly ... and quite pressure sensitive.

Not as road banding sensitive when worn as Tourances ...

But this applies to an Adventure .... ;)

Anakees OK

Found them fine on my 1150 but changed back to Tourances, which are even better & last longer - mind you if you're used to trailwings you'll probably think the Anakees are brilliant :D

Yup, what they said.

If I were wfter a set of tourences and couldn't find any, I'd setlle for Anakees.

Hmmmm............apart from if I could get TKC's ;)

I like 'em. Grippy enough to get some serious lean angles. The rear lasted 4.5k.

I agree with the pressure sensitivity, but my rear Anakee should just make 8k, front has done 10k with loads of tread left (1100GS).

Anakees

Hope they are good - I've ordered a set to be fitted at my 10k service next week.
Local advice is that they work better than tourances on and off road but are not quite as long lasting.
I'll be glad to get rid of the trailwings which are pretty well worn out - front and back both worn about the same - anyone know why that would be? I expected the rear to go first. Heat of an Oz summer?
Trailwings are 'orrible in the wet IMO.
BTW how much do you pay for a set in the UK? been quoted $500 for the set here fitted.
that's about 200 quid by my reckoning.

Dunno about a pair, but I've just put a rear on that set me back £88. No doubt a front is less so maybe £150 a pair?
