Have taken the plunge and bought myself the 660, do I need a microsd or a microsdhc for me to store music on etc?

Got it from Satnav easy, great turnaround and speedy delivery, their website claim, is that the 2010 maps are preloaded , however, mine shows the following:-

CN Europe 2009 3D buildings
(1) City Navigator Europe NT2009 3D

City Navigator Europe NT 2009
(1) All

Am I missing something, like the 2010 maps for example ?

Cheers,
Rich.

Hi Rich

Either type of card will work, but most [seem] to use 4Gb MicroSDHC. I use SanDisk, and the faster the card, the better. That said, I have a vanilla SanDisk with speed 2 printed on it, and it works just fine.

You'll need to go to www.garmin.com to register your 660, and during the process, it should ask if you want to update the maps to 2010. It'll download to your PC, but the download can take 3 or 4 hours, depending on your broadband speed etc. Then you connect your 660 via USB port (or before, can't quite remember!) and it'll install everything for you.

It should also update the firmware to 3.10, and give you the option to update the voices and language texts. If it doesn't, follow the instructions to download the webupdate program (if it doesn't install already) and you can search manually. Some of these can take a bit of time too. However, it'll be worth it.

You'll also see an option for a free trial of updated Safety Camera sites.

Good luck

Thanks for that, will do.

Have wired it onto my bike, installed the "magic box" from autocom, goes between 3.5mm female on the fly lead to the "music" connection on the Autocom box, now to see if I get anything through the earphones in my lid !!

Thanks again,

Rich.
