Microshit would now appear to be in the business of launching viruses.

I have several XP computers, mostly laptops.
They will not be "upgraded" since many of the systems I connect to in Industry are still DOS based, and anything after XP will not support them.
All of my systems are running XP professional with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Lo and behold:
8 days after Microshit stopped supporting their best ever operating system, my computer freezes. Cause:Microsoft's Antimalware Service Executable.
I thought it was a trojan I had picked up, but I am very careful to avoid such problems.
No: It turns out Microshit have planted it there, probably to try and force people to buy an new computer/operating system.

Such is Captialism

Not likely, I would have thought?

Litigation, especially in USA - would be crippling.

It's happened to several machines at work as well running xp with endpoint which is the corporate version of security essentials. MS would appear to have turned it off which would appear to have caused other issues. Whether intended or not I have no idea.

Not really, it was a bug, not deliberately done to get people off XP. It affected server 2003 as well and that is very definitely not end of line.

Yes: I know it is just bad luck, don't you think, that on Microshit's last upgrade they buggered up every computer using XP, and will no longer provide a second upgrade to fixing the bug, since the operating system is no longer supported.
Oh, we are just unlucky. Microshits solution: Buy an new operating system to fix our fuck up.

Install a Linux implementation and a genuine DOS package on dual boot. Chuck the MS were it all rightfully belongs.

Your obviously not happy with MS. All our XP stuff is working again today after thay picked up the fix that Microsoft released yesterday. No need to upgrade them to a newer OS.

How is buying a Mac a solution? Been on any mac forums re issues and problems? Please search, they are not the answer bringing their own gripes and issues with them.
What makes you think Apple will support older OS's indefinitely? They wont, and people will moan about them too when they end support....

Give me MS every day, Apple aint all it's cracked up to be :D especially when it comes to updates and what will run and what won't run!
