Recently change to a laptop from normal desktop

had microsoft outlook for email, and when i copied shortcuts to interesting titbits on ukgser i could paste them with no problems into outlook message to forward on...

Installed outlook on laptop...

Now it seems that when i cut and paste all i get is a small multicoloured circle appear, that doesnt link to the site when double clicked...

Is it settings or what? (seems to be the same logo associated with a bluetooth usb device I've installed) methinks its connected?

Cheers Bryn

Hi,

If you are trying to paste pics etc into outlook e-mails, you have to select "Paste special" from the "Edit" dropdown menu.

Then select "Picture DIB" (if it is a pic)

or "HTML" (if it is a pic and text from a webpage)

Hope that sorts it?

Thanks for the info Al.. I'll check it out! Bryn

Rather than muck about with 'paste special' you could try setting the email format to 'html' (under tools, options).

I've never used paste special and frequently copy and paste both pictures and http links without any problems.
