Mid corner front end patter.....

When pushing the GS hard into a corner the front end started pattering. Backed off slightly and it went away - only to return when back on the gas into the next corner.

I know that this sort of behaviour can be controlled by adjusting rebound damping, but the standard shock is only adjustable for preload.

Short of spending a large amount of wedge on a new fully adjustable shock is there anything I can do?

You may be able to get the shock rebuilt. Even the non rebuildable ones generally are........if you know what I mean!

If you`ve got Tourances fitted, there`s a good chance you`ve got a dodgy one.
Check your pressures too.
Also check your rear shock isn`t set too 'soft',you may find that 'stiffening' it puts more weight on the front end,and sharpens up your steering.

I do have Tourances fitted and whilst the tyre pressures are ok, they are coming to the end of their life. I had already decided to replace them anyway, so hopefully that will do the trick.

Cheers.
