Hi, I’m considering changing my Scrambler for one and was curious if there are any others out there in a similar position?
I bought my R9T without riding it cause I got a good deal, I love the engine, but not crazy about the suspension or overall riding position. I’m finished with the mud or riding through streams etc, but do enjoy gravel trails on the continent. I’d never take my Scrambler on though - cause it’s way too much of a tart’s handbag with all the 719 bling and the suspension sucks!!
I’ve put the bar risers on my bike, but still not crazy about the riding position and the 719 (Gilles) don’t seem to help either.
Guess I’m looking for a nudge! lol
Thanks in advance 👍

Not an R9T but changed from R12nineT to the G/S. No regrets, improved comfort for me because of the more upright position, wider and higher bars. The feeling of lightness encourages spirited riding on backroads while the long suspension soaks up the bumps.

Bar risers, peg lowers, comfort seat and suspension upgrade will massively improve your R9T for a fraction of the cost of changing.
Scrambler is a retro analogue bike the new R12G/S is not at all. Depends what you want from your bike, the new G/S is easier to ride with more bells and whistles but the experience to me was very vanilla.

Can you expain to me how the R9T is analogue and the R12 has more bells & whistles ?

Both bikes are air/oil-cooled boxers with telescopic forks , paralever rear suspension , riding modes , abs pro and LED lighting

The R12 has keyless other than that I cant see a huge difference ?

The original R9roadster is a beautiful bike (suspension being the exception).
The R9 Scrambler just wasn't as well executed as the roadster for me.

The R12 G/S enduro is the bike the The R9 scrambler should have been.

Feel like I'm hovering over a sick bed, but if you do decide to change up and are happy to sell bits seperately, please do let me know. Apologies for the circling vulture approach!

Have a 2017 Scrambler bought from this very parish a while back...
Scrambler

My name is Hatcho and I'm a farkler, it's been 26 days and 8 hours since I last fitted some form of upgrade or tat to one of my bikes! I'm currently on step 6 of my 12 steps to sobriety.

Tbh, I’m still in conversation with my marriage guidance councillor (Pier City Customs) and just ordered the Wunderlich peg lowering kit. I’ve not touched the suspension yet, cause want to get the riding position fixed first. If I can’t, it’ll be getting sold 🤔
I’ve not ridden the R12 G/S yet, but the seating position on the Enduro is perfect for me.
Watch this space.

I had the R9T scrambler back in 2016 when they first came out . loved the looks but it was cramped for me at 6 foot 6 . The R12G/S is roomier and feels easier to ride . I have the Enduro version with road tyres and is my dream bike now . I don't think you will regret it and there are some nice second hand ones out there starting at 12 thousand or so

Congratulations, here's looking forward to your 30 day token. :D

On the bikes, my back is starting to feel its age (and abuse) - I sat on a 12 G/S and found it supremely comfortable. Plus, I'd go for it based on looks alone.

The R9T originally didn’t have riding modes, keyless, quick shifter or the other Euro whatever requirements. It’s also came with a clocks and not LED/TFT.
I had a Scrambler and now have a Turban. I personally think the original R9T is the best one but if you’re over 6ft then it is like the proverbial monkey f***ing a football.
The new G/S looks great but I test rode it for two hours and honestly prefer the Turban. Everyone is different and I understand that but the G/S is over double the cost and for me it’s not as good.

So it's a personal preference and a cost argument which I understand and agree everyone is different thankfully . You can get the R12 with clocks rather than an LED display

Isn’t everything a personal choice?
Seen those clocks on the R12 Roadster and they look great
