MiGSel GPS mount?

Has any one got one of these fitted? Does it add much weight to the front end when the GPS is fitted? I find the clocks wobble a lot as it is now i have fitted the Tobinatos. Anyone tried to stiffen the front end up to stop the clocks from moving around so much?(I know i have left myself open there so i expect some dodgy replies ...) How much sre the mounts Mr MiGSel???

Thats an interesting question. I think the migsel jobbie is £50 but best to ask him. It really does look the business, but like you I find my whole "cokpit" a bit vibie as it is and wonder how solid the whole thing would be.

Still I have heard nothing but praise for his product so GFI and let us know how you get on sorting out the wobbles.

BTW I did all the allen bolts up a while ago and that certainly steadied it all up.

I have one on my 1100 and it carries my 60c. There is some flex in the clocks but I don't find it a problem at all even with batteries in the GPS unit. I have an MRA Vario screen fitted which is similar in effect to Tobinators. The position of the GPS is soooooo much better that on the standard RAM mount. It just sits perfectly in the line of sight and as I don't have the 2610 with the voice system into my helmet I do look at the GPS screen when navigating. It's a top bit of kit and I would recommend it . If I recall cost was about € 50 +/-

I find the movement no problem with the short RAM arm, and on paved roads.

But I'll let other users comment on that

Crusty sorry to hear about your flacid front parts mate. happens to us all eventually.

It does wobble, but then whole bike is a bit like that. As Michel himself says you need the short arm. Dont put the GPS there for off road, that does get a bit scarey. But Ive probably ridden 15k kms with the GPS there and all I can say is its 100x better than on the bars. I keep my ball on the handlebars (fnarr fnarr) for the off road stuff.

Its just one of those bits of kit which is very simple, very well made and very effective, like the tobinator for example.

I have one of Migsel GPS mounts been fitted from Mr Migsel Himself when I was in Belgium


Top bit of kit

on Normal roads it does not wobble around, you have a brill
veiw of the GPS screen it sits nicely above your speedo letting you have eye movement only between the two

I also use the short arm ram mount 1"1/2 ? I think
sits perfect under my standard 1150GS screen

Have you got any pictures? How long to fit? How far can you have the screen tilted back with it fitted? My screen now looks like Tober`s screen in the attached photo, Tilted right back to get the best effect. Mark :0)

A pic of my pre-production model.

This has the ball mounted on the left and has to have the longer ram arm.
Does wobble the clocks a bit on bad roads...but I believe using the small arm on MiGSel's version eliminates some of this....The dash has to move a little or it would shake apart.
Benefits of GPS in front outweigh some dash movement..IMHO.
I also have the Tobinators fitted with screen quite low and can mount the GPS so the speedo is still in view.

I've got the short ram arm on my Streetpilot III. even with batteries fitted there is very little movement. The brackets is really well made and fits a treat.

Couln't recommend it enough
