hey-ive just bought a (late) 2006 r1200 gsa which already has managed to do 75000 miles-cheap and all i could afford, but im going to be doing a good 750 miles a week on it myself foir work....
the bike seems to have been looked after and has quite a full service history. it had the whole rear shaft drive assembly replaced a year ago under warranty, so thats one job out of the way. someone far more knowledgable than me told me buying this bike was a bad idea, as it wouldn't go on very much longer before it started costing me serious money to keep on the road. is this true? whats the highest mileage anyone's ever heard on one of them? can anyone point to potential problems to look out for and preventive maintenance routines (apart from regular oil and filter changes!) i can do which might help avoid these?
many thanks for your input....ryan
PS it comes with a low sargent seat in good nick if anyone wants to swap for a half decent standard height seat?!
