can any one tell what sort of mile to a gal my 1150 gsa should be doing. just been on trip through germany and at 80 to90 mph was only do about 37 to gal is tis normal. any info would great , cheers shaun

I get 10 miles per litre with panniers on and a few more without them 
I reckn 45 mpg is normal if you're cruising around 70, so 37mpg @ 80-90 mph sounds quite good.
I ride a GSA 1200, and my benchmark is 10-13 miles per litre @ a speed range of 80 - 90 mph.

According to my IPhone app, Gas Cubby I get 46.5MPG

My 650 twin did 70 mpg when cruising at 70 mph
Once I sit at 90-95, the consumption goes up quite a bit. Norm average per tank is around 46mpg (1150) but 35-38 at 95. Think it may have something to do with aerodynamics of an building 
Over the past 4000 miles I've averaged 42mpg, with everything from commuting to scratching to motorway cruising.

Just come back from doing 3500 miles around the Alps and Dolomites pretty well ragging it 2 up with luggage and averaged 48.6 MPG
This was on my R1200GS, so like others have said, if your getting 10 miles to the litre, your doing OK IMO
