My old gs when brimmed used to register about 220 miles on the screen. The new one bought Sept 2022 won't show more than 195 miles when brimmed . Anyone else got any estimates of what theirs show on the tft when full or is it just me thinking sender unit or something else may be out.

My R1250GS used to show 205 miles range after a fill for the first 3 years/18000 miles of its life, but over the last 12 months it's increased to 220 miles. The bike has now done just under 24k.

Highest range (242 miles) I have ever seen on my 2019 GS 1250 was after a leisurely ride accompanying a friend of mine whilst he was running his bike in for first 600mls

So 195 seems a bit low, thanks all

Give it a chance to reset parameters after a dozen or so tankfulls. It will be based on riding style,. My old 2006 GSA when comuting and local riding will be around 330 miles or so range when filling up.
If I go on a long trip it can go up to as much as 500 miles range. ( I have done as many as 467 miles on a tankful) Type of riding can make a big difference.

Are you putting e10 in it? I put Sainsbury's super unleaded 97 ron in mine after niticing a drop in fuel consumption when they shifted to e10 for normal unleaded and in the short non scientific test I did the e5 gave me a higher increase in fuel consumption that it cost extra in fuel. Plus as above the harder you ride it the less it'll do to the tank.

Brimmed yesterday with Morrisons 97, that's when it shows 195 miles

Strangley did go down shortly after a short ride afterwards to 182 but then when re started showed 185 I put that down to using both side and then centre stand

The range estimate, like the mpg, will be based on the last x miles of riding, so if you've been hoofing it down the motorway and fill up it'll show a lower new range when you switch on than had you been riding slowly. Also quite possible for the range to stay at the same reading for a while or even increase if you change from fast to slow mid-ride for the same reason.

MPG in the cold weather will always be lower as well of course.

Thanks all, brimmed this morning showed 197 miles on tesco 99 momentum.
Just re brimmed afterc180 miles to day at same stn, pump and fuel.

Now shows 217 miles, first time over 200 and just over 2,500 miles now. Maybe loosening up
