Hiya all, after years of thinking about I've finally convinced myself that it is time to get a new bike - a new BMW. Had a go on an F800GS last week, and it confirmed all that I'd anticipated. Made my R80ST feel a bit of a heap when I got back on it though...!
Hopefully within the next week or so I'm ordering a new 30th Anniv model, with comfort pack, computer and full luggage. Never ever had a new bike, and if I don't do it now, at 51, I never will....
Next year Col de la Bonette by way of tour round France.
Found the bike perfect for my riding needs, nimble on back roads, quick on tarmac, and I presume well able to tour two up for a couple of weeks. If my old 50bhp R80/7 could do that, this will easily! Couldn't believe how light it felt and easily handled.
Might have an R80ST for sale soon!
Would have liked a 1200, but at £13.5k, just too salty for me, and for most of my riding, dare I say it, a bit too big.
Already looking for accessories! Will probably add a scottoiler, crashbars and seen a rear hugger/chainguard that looks ok.
Will advise when I've got it!

Forget the 1200 you have the best GS currently available arriving shortly. I'd keep the ST if you can, a classic:thumb

Got it!

Collected my lovely new 30th Anniv F800GS today with comfort pack and full luggage. Did 160miles around the North Yorkshire Moors, White Horse, Hawnby, Chopgate, Lealholm, Fryupdale, Rosedal, Farndale etc ....averaged 67mpg, what a bike!

Tried to keep it clean but a few damp lanes and it's got a tiny bit muddy - well you can't get a dual purpose bike and worry about it getting mucky, can you. Would love to hear from any other F800-ers around here.
Wondering what to put on it ...hugger, Scott oiler, taller screen? Crash bars?
Lots to choose from - any recommendations?
