Minimum running in mileage

TBH, no matter how much advice I got, I broadly followed what it said in the handbook and it was no trouble at all. I did a dozen or more A and B road rides, with some nice cuppa stops. It's easy to ride in a spirited manner, even keeping under 5,000 revs (most of the time). Lots of up and down the 'box, acceleration, engine braking and heat cycles. Lots of fun. Also gave time to play with adjustments (seat, bars, screen, clutch lever, gearshifter, suspension settings) and where it's most convenient to store stuff, to get it right for me.

Good fun, followed by a free 1st service (part of the deal), suspension recalibration (made an improvement) and a clear conscience ahead of my first tour on it this month. Where's the downside, even if being careful might not strictly be necessary?
